REUTERS – Millions of people have taken to the streets in Venezuela calling for an end to Maduro’s presidency, amid food shortages, a collapsing currency, and soaring inflation.

More than three months of often violent protests against President Nicolas Maduro’s socialist government have convulsed the South American OPEC nation. The Venezuelan Observatory for Social Conflict, a rights group, reported that there have been more than 5,400 protests this year, over 100 people have died according to official tallies, and thousands have been injured in near-daily demonstrations around the country.
