
Don’t call it, rhetorically, the forgotten war. And don’t identify Yemen with war. Because Yemen is more than just a pile of rubble caused by a long, exhausting conflict.
Yemen is at the centre of a strategic, logistical, economic and cultural warfare fought by local, regional and international players — who do not forget its existence, its strategic position, its little-used hydrocarbon treasure and the huge number of young men without any properties, willing to do anything to escape poverty.
